Our leadership goal: We want to make disciples.
How do we accomplish this task?
- We teach them (information).
- We train them (action).
Two Important Leadership Principles:
- Reproduction
- Empowerment
Case study #1: Henry Ford
Ford was not willing to share the load.
Ford was inflexible– it could only be done his way.
Cast study #2: Moses and Joshua
Moses gave Joshua experience.
Moses gave Joshua real responsibility.
Ultimately, Moses gave Joshua authority and blessing.
Several Thoughts:
- No leader can do it all.
- People grow when they are involved in ministry.
- When people are an active part of the team, they are more committed.
- When people feel needed, it increases their sense of worth and value.
- When we multiply leaders, we multiply ministry.
Two Important Opportunities to Empower People:
- Life group – apprentices, delegation
