Life Group Leader Role Description
Our life group leader description flows out of our three core values.
Upward:
- Has an ongoing, loving relationship with the Lord Jesus Christ
- Always encourages a pursuit of God in the group time through regular Bible reading, worship through song, and corporate prayer
- Regularly prayer-walks the neighborhood in which the group meets
Inward:
- Shepherds the group to love and care for one another
- Contacts group members outside of group time on a regular basis
- Prays weekly for each member of the group
- Facilitates and models authenticity in group discussions
- Encourages members to develop gifts and seek ministry opportunities
- Tracks group’s numerical growth, member conversions and assimilation
- Encourages group members toward gospel intentionality in the ordinary as worshipers, family, missionaries, servants, and learners
Outward:
- Identifies specific ministries and people that the group can partner with in the gospel work
- Keeps a running list of people that the group is sharing and investing in the gospel
- Identifies and trains an apprentice to multiply the group on a regular basis
- Celebrates and has regular invitations for block parties, movie nights, or game nights for new people
