World Missions

At LCF, we have 5 ways that you can engage in world missions, right here, right now:

1. Missionary Care.

It would be cruel to prepare a missionary for the field, support him/her financially, and then never invest in their lives once they leave your city.  We believe that part of our mission at LCF is to lovingly care for those we send out.  This mission is not accomplished primarily by staff or programs, but by loving individuals and families within the body.  Caring for a missionary living oversees not only benefits the missionary, it also allows you to engage in the work on that field, and to take ownership for the ministry – vital elements of your mission in the world.

2.  Cross-Cultural Connections

Nashville has become a city of great diversity – over 140 different ethnicities are represented in the Nashville area!  This provides a unique opportunity for world missions, right outside the walls of our church building.  There are so many benefits for the church, but also for the city, if we can engage these international communities well.   Helping a refugee family is one of the easiest and most gratifying ways for you to live on mission in Nashville.

3.  Short Term Mission Trips

If you are looking for a life changing mission experience that will forever define World Missions in your heart and mind – take a short term trip.  You will never look at the world or at your own home the same way again!

4.  Church of the Nations

Paul makes it clear in his epistles that we are to care for other believers.  At LCF, we are closely tied with several international congregations right here in Nashville.  These churches, comprised of our brothers and sisters from around the world, need our prayers and support.

5.  Mission Mobilization

We believe in cultivating an environment at LCF where new missionaries are regularly called by the Lord and where those called are continuously trained and supported.  Much of this training is accomplished by our staff – but the support depends largely on the members at LCF.  Those preparing to move oversees need the love and care of their Lighthouse family.
